as we age
My Grammy used to tell me the older she became, the faster time went. As I am getting older I am finding out how true that is. Each day seems to bring a new feature of aging that I am having to come to terms. The past two years have been an ongoing discovery of health issues and changes to my body. I feel at times that I do not know it anymore, I don’t always trust my body to do what I want. I have found it takes a lot of courage and patience to move forward.
We need to be patient and keep moving! Find what you love and do that. Running, biking, hiking, tennis, yoga, or pickleball.. whatever it is that brings you joy. Just keep moving that body. It is difficult to get out there at times but it is the way to lead an active lifestyle in our 70s plus years. To be an active grandparent, friend, caregiver, or spouse takes determination and commitment. Life does not stop because we age, we age because we have stopped living.
I know it is possible. I ran my first 50 mile ultra marathon at 50 years old. If I can do that, then whatever you have in your mind you can do that too.
